God, I hate Internet Explorer. I really fucking do. I’ve been spending the last few days trying to make Phillybred.com XHTML 1.1 compliant which is not a hard to do, just soooo fucking tedious. I have to go back and edit 520+ entries correcting stupid shit that worked in WordPress 1.x but not 2.x like line breaks and alternate image tags.
But my major problem has been cross-browser compatibility. With the lack of my sidebar, PhillyBred.com simply craps out in Internet Explorer, especially the footer. I don’t want to alienate 75% of my reasdership by going “Too Cool for IE” but I’m really between a rock and a hard place. And all of this editing is keeping me from posting. God I hate IE.

I really can’t help myself, I went ahead and upgraded to WordPress 2 RC which effectively killed have of my plugins. And not even the superfical ones like comment counter but the necessary ones like Bot-Check and phpexec. So with sans functionally and getting spam every hour I felt like a change. Yeah I know I just finished butchering up my Kubrick template a few weeks ago, but as much as I like a minimalist look, all that white looked too BLAND. So here’s a new masthead and a new background. By the way did I mention that I scraped my sidebar?

PhillyBred.com is losing some girth and slimming down. Kind of like making alterations to a pink Chanel suit, I’ve been tweaking and chopping up Michael Heilemann’s Kurbick template to make it look different but still the same.
So essentially what I’ve done to trim down the look is:
-resized the page so that its 700px instead of 760px
-changed out the masthead
-redid several pages (photo gallery, archives, & about
-added a colophon
-added several plugins for various functionality (Noteworthy & Weighted Categories)
So now hopefully Phillybred.com can finally fit into those nice Ecko jeans hanging in it closet.

OK, maybe that was a little harsh and sensationalistic but every time I go through all the naked photostreams get half way into updating and layout changes on my Yahoo! 360 page I get this:
Doesn’t matter on the time of day or the day of the week. I need to be able to have 1389 people on my friends list and complain about being disconnected from people like everyone else. Good thing I’m not paying for this
porn service or I’d be pissed.

Well thanks for telling me comments weren’t working. Anyway I fixed the issue, it had something to do with my wp-comment.php file and probably from fucking around with this captcha hack a few weeks back.
Also at some point today, I’ll post a video entry. Since .mac is giving out more space I might as well utilize it.
