iPad… I Get It

This is not about the name. Unlike fart jokes, feminine hygiene product jokes are never funny, but I digress. Anyway, the iPad… I totally get what it is and what it isn’t.
First you have to realize what the iPad isn’t. Its not a tablet computer so stop comparing it to one. A tablet PC has been nothing more than a laptop with a touchscreen. Now what is the iPad? Simply put… its a souped up ebook reader. And it surpasses about 95% of all ebook readers just by having a full color screen. So I don’t care that the iPad doesn’t have a built-in camera, why? Because my iphone has a camera, my Mac has a camera and my camera is A CAMERA! People expect too much and contribute very little, granted I’m not in the market for an ebook reader of any kind, but than again I just started using the Amazon Kindle app on my iPhone and that work’s fine for me.

I agree with you totally … This is one of those Apple gadgets that I don’t think people understood fully … Ur right, it’s not a tablet PC … For me personally this was the most underwhelming release … I found this to be more EVOLUTIONARY than revolutionary. I was disappointed to see that the iPad suffers the same limitations of the iPhone (notice when Steve Jobs was demoing the NYTimes website – u could hear a few giggles in the audience).
